Are You the One in Eight?
For many rural women living with breast cancer, attending a breast cancer support group is not always possible. Although the majority of physicians encourage support group participation and positive outcomes from participation have been documented, many rural or frontier towns don’t have the population to support a regular, professionally-led group.
A
new research project, funded through the California Breast Cancer Research Project, is seeking rural Northern California women to share their breast cancer experiences. Your experiences can contribute valuable information and data to educate doctors and scientists about how they could provide better care and more resources in rural and frontier areas.
